Auburn, population 400, is “Small in Size but Big in View” with many sections of the community overlooking the valley. Rad modeled this town after the community of Auburn, NY, which is nestled in the rolling hills of east central New York state. The following has been modeled.
In town there is a monument to General Roger Huntington, a civil war hero, who led union troops at the battle of Vicksburg. Returning from the war he was instrumental in developing Auburn into a prospering town. A park is named after him. An Oktober Fest is taking place in the park and the local band is playing in the gazebo. Auburn has a small passenger/freight station. The main switching area includes a fuel facility and O. H. Wright lumber and building supply company.
